DCFX installs as a d3d9.dll beside the game and sits between Drift City and Direct3D 9. The game's own files are not changed; remove the file and the game is as it shipped.
What it does
- A menu on F12, drawn with VanGUI, where its settings are changed while the game runs.
- Cel-shaded outlines, switchable. Drift City draws a dark outline around cars and objects. DCFX can leave that pass out, while the car bodies and the world draw as normal.
- Depth, every frame. It captures the scene's depth as the game draws, which is what depth-based effects are built on, and runs its effects through VanGFX.
