Prism is a public record that a community keeps: entries people can search, a social layer to talk about them, and an admin panel to run it. It is written in PHP against MySQL with no framework and no build step. Upload the files, open setup.php, and it installs itself.
What it does
| Entries | Categorised records with media, tags, BBCode, reactions, view counts and full-text search. |
| Submissions | A block editor for members, an anonymous tip inbox and a moderation queue. |
| Social | Profiles, posts, groups, follows, notifications and a moderation dashboard. |
| Live chat | An optional real-time room with moderation tools. |
| Help desk | Public ticket lookup, a knowledge base and an agent inbox. |
| Admin | Settings, appearance, the member directory, roles and permissions, categories, pages, webhooks, a firewall and an audit log. |
| REST API | Read-only JSON for entries and categories, with optional key authentication. |
| Automation | A job queue for email, webhooks and social posting, run from cron. |
Queries are parameterised throughout and every request that changes state carries a CSRF token. Prism 1.0 shipped in 2026; the same platform was called Vigil before that, and Dramatica before Vigil.
