VanTools covers the ground of the usual PC-care bundles in one program, with no ads, no upsells and no scan score built to sell something. Every page is backed by an interface Windows itself documents, and every change is written to a Rescue Center first, so it can be undone.
It ships as one VanTools.exe with the C++ runtime linked in, so nothing is installed beside it. The interface is drawn with VanGUI; the graphics check runs on VanGFX.
What it does
| Home | A Smart Scan with a health score whose every deduction is listed, and live CPU, memory, disk, network and GPU load. |
| Clean | Junk files, privacy traces, registry leftovers, broken shortcuts, and finders for large, duplicate and empty files. |
| Optimize | Startup items, services, processes, power plans and drives. SSDs are only ever re-trimmed, never defragmented. |
| Security | A second-opinion scan next to Microsoft Defender over startup entries, scheduled tasks, services and the hosts file, plus Defender's own scans, history and quarantine, and the Windows firewall. |
| Downloads | Up to eight connections per file, pause and resume across restarts, and a SHA-256 check. Finished files are handed to Microsoft Defender. |
| Uninstaller | Programs and Windows apps, batch removal, a leftover scan, browser extensions and an install monitor. |
| Drivers | Driver updates from Windows Update, device problems, a library that keeps and restores past versions, and a graphics check that draws with Direct3D 11 and 12. |
| System Modifier | Live sensors, the power plan's processor settings, per-app GPU choice and GPU scheduling. |
What it leaves alone
Drivers come only from Microsoft's Windows Update catalogue. VanTools never switches off Defender's real-time, cloud or tamper protection and never adds a Defender exclusion. It loads no kernel driver, so clock, voltage and fan settings stay with the hardware maker's own tools. On a managed PC it shows what policy sets and leaves those settings alone, and it asks before anything needs administrator rights.
Privacy
No accounts, no telemetry, no ads. VanTools goes online only when asked to: Windows Update and winget through Windows, Microsoft's servers for runtimes, and the links given to the download manager.
