Press X in a race and the car slides: hold the throttle and it pushes wide and refuses to turn in; lift off and the front bites and the car rotates. The handbrake throws the tail out on demand. Press X again and the car drives as it shipped.
The numbers
Each is a multiplier on the car's own stock value, and each can be changed in DriftMode.ini without rebuilding anything.
| While | Front grip | Rear grip | Steering |
|---|---|---|---|
| Throttle held | 0.77 | 0.70 | 0.45 |
| Off the throttle | 0.90 | 0.89 | 0.89 |
| Handbrake, added | 0.70 |
The mod reads the car's stock grip and steering once, then writes stock times multiplier on every tick, so the values never drift; turning it off writes the stock values back. It reaches them through the car's own tyre settings by their verified field keys from MWSDK, so it changes only the car you are driving.
The first version swapped the player's car onto the game's traffic suspension, a trick Lee-Ryo found and shared in our Discord. This version reshapes the grip instead, which is what lets the handling change with the pedals.
